    Service Management Group (SMG) is looking for an Associate User Experience Designer to work collaboratively with the User Experience Team, a team of Product Managers, Architects, Engineers and key stakeholders to develop new concepts and designs for client-facing website and applications that meet client needs and ultimately drive future revenue growth for SMG.  A strong customer focus and a drive to provide outstanding customer service are core values of SMG and should be characteristics of the successful Associate UX Designer.

     

    We utilize industry best practices and design standards to define and implement user interfaces that effectively communicate to sales and support teams. We are seeking someone who has experience with the following:

    Responsibilities

    • Create and validate high fidelity prototypes working with the Product Team to achieve user goals
    • Define and maintain User Interface Design Standards which can be integrated across SMG’s family of applications
    • Influence development teams and Product Managers on how to best meet the needs of users through integration of form and function
    • Manage vendors as necessary to support user experience testing and graphic design
    • Apply existing visual design patterns consistently and extend and document emerging patterns
    • Create visual specs and maintain style guides
    • Conduct visual design quality assurance and user acceptance testing
    • Promote accessibility standards (i.e. 508 Compliance) and best practices internally and externally
    • Collaborate both internally and externally to understand user requirements
    • Conduct usability research to gather user requirements, analyze/recommend experience design
    • Analyze and translate study results and user needs
    • Create and validate prototypes with the user community
    • Present decisions and alternate solutions based on user research, web analytics, and industry best practices
    • Serve as a User Experience consultant resource within the company
    • Design complex, pixel-perfect interfaces and data visualizations for applications and websites

    Qualifications

    • Firm understanding of user experience design processes and principles
    • 1+ years of experience creating innovative experience across web, mobile, tablet, social and DOOH channels
    • Bachelors of Arts Degree in Graphic Design, Human Factors or equivalent
    • 1+ years of experience and an advanced proficiency with design tools including Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat Pro)
    • Experience using Rapid Prototyping tools such as Axure, Invision, Balsamiq
    • Interactive Prototype construction experience
    • Experience working with Agile software teams
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stake holders across all levels of the organization, along with clients
    • Ability to execute visual designs of complex transactional interfaces, taxonomies and metadata frameworks, and templates for content management systems
    • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
    • Ability to prioritize and schedule own work based on competing demands of clients and team members.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and team members.
    • Willingness to travel (5% or less)
    • Proficiency in the MS Office Suite
