    SENIOR ACCOUNT MANAGER, CLIENT INSIGHTS

    SMG is looking to add an experienced, detail-oriented, proactive Senior Account Manager to our Client Insights team in our Boston office. This position plays a dual role as the day-to-day client contact and senior-level advisor to your Client Insights team. You’ll be responsible for the development and maintenance of several long-term customer and employee satisfaction programs and help establish SMG as a true business partner, rather than just a vendor. You should be a great problem solver, strategic thinker, role model, and motivator to help your team and our clients be the best they can be.

    Responsibilities

    What you can expect in this role:

     

    Client relationships: Understand the ins and outs of your clients’ business models, advise clients on SMG methodologies and best practices, provide recommendations to advance insights, sell additional relevant SMG products and services, deliver insights presentations multiple times a year.

     

    Leadership: Create and manage project budgets, develop junior associates’ skill sets and knowledge, provide constructive feedback to team members, conduct annual performance appraisals and reviews, and participate in/lead internal initiatives and groups, foster good working relationships across teams.

     

    Analysis + insights: Understand client goals and objectives, ensure quality of surveys and reports, manage presentation flow and develop a story that delivers valuable insights and actions, proactively dig into client data to find opportunities for client growth, stay apprised of industry trends and changes.

    Qualifications

    What you’ll need to succeed:

     

    • 5 + years of work experience in consulting, marketing research, or professional services
    • Bachelor’s degree
    • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel + PowerPoint)
    • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong multi-tasking and creative problem-solving skills
    • Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to analyze data and translate it into valuable, actionable information for clients
    • Authority to act as a subject matter expert—both internally and externally
    • Ability to develop and motivate team members
    • A knack for research-based thinking and a drive to stay up-to-speed on industry trends
    • Ability to travel 15–20% of the time
